Ken-Tool is proud to officially launch the “Ken-Tool Cares” Campaign. This is a unique and special initiative beginning October 1st, 2019 and running through the months of October and November.

What is Ken-Tool Cares? Ken-Tool Cares is our way of helping to provide research dollars to continue the fight against breast cancer. Breast Cancer affects everyone. While primarily occurring in women, breast cancer also affects men. In fact, almost 3000 men are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. A portion of the proceeds of this campaign will be donated to The Lee Giller Male Breast Cancer fund, a fund that is determined to eliminate this disease in males and females alike.

Since we can’t forget the kids, a portion of the proceeds are also going to the Ohio Chapter of Camp Quality USA. This camp is for kids diagnosed with cancer. It is a place where they are provided a safe and enjoyable camp experience, giving them an opportunity and environment to get away from the stresses of their illness.

How this campaign works…from October 1st thru October 31st, Ken-Tool will donate a percentage of all sales of our T45A bars to the Lee Giller Male Breast Cancer Fund and the Ohio Chapter of Camp Quality USA. To make this even more fun, and to commemorate the cause we are fighting for, we are painting all of the T45A bars Pink!
During the Ken-Tool Cares campaign, we are also running a contest. We are asking that techs send us a short video of them or others in the shop using their pink T45As, and demonstrating how they use the tool for mounting or demounting a tire, telling a personal story about their relationship to cancer, etc.

All video entries should be kept under one minute and can be easily uploaded to a dedicated webpage on the Ken-Tool website, www.kentool.com/cares. One Grand prize entry will be selected to win $1,000.00 in Ken-Tool products for their shop. The runner-up video will receive $500.00 in Ken-Tool products, the second runner up will receive $250.00 in Ken-Tool products, and the third and fourth runners up will receive $100.00 in Ken-Tool products. The winners will be selected based on creativity, originality and performance.

The winning video will be featured on Ken-Tool’s Facebook page, YouTube channel, and company website. The contest and all accepted video submissions will run from October 1st – November 30th, and the winner will officially be announced December 6th.

HOW TO ENTER

  1. Get out your video camera and grab a friend or two to film you.
  2. Tell us your name, city and state.
  3. Show us how you use your PINK T45A Ken-Tool tire iron – have fun, get creative but be safe.
  4. Upload and submit your video (acceptable formats include: mpeg, mp4, avi, mov, wmv) using the form at the bottom of this page.

Video Contest Rules and Regulations

I. INTRODUCTION

Ken-Tool is launching a special video contest on its Web site at www.kentool.com/cares, which encourages participants to submit a video of a Ken-Tool product in use. Participants should fully read the updated Rules and Regulations prior to submitting a video.
Visitors to the site are asked to create and upload a video of themselves using a pink Ken-Tool T45A tire iron (you can buy a new one or paint it pink yourself) and describing how they or a person they know have been affected by cancer. To ensure you have met all of the contest requirements, please see the Rules and Regulations. The videos submitted may be professional, funny, inspiring, surprising, etc. Improper use of the tools and dangerous techniques are not encouraged and will not be considered as finalists during judging. Any video that is deemed “dangerous” by Ken-Tool administrators will not be posted to the site.

II. COMPETITION RULES

  1. Eligibility to participate
    The Ken-Tool Video Contest is open to all U.S. citizens, ages 18 and older, who would like to show their creativity by filming a video that demonstrates the superior quality of Ken-Tool products.
    Employees (including factory representatives) and family members of employees of Ken-Tool and Crowl Marketing | Creative are not eligible to participate in the Ken-Tool Video Contest.
  2. Organizer of the video competition
    The organizer of the video contest is Ken-Tool. Ken-Tool is the leading manufacturer of tire service tools in the world. Headquartered in Akron, Ohio, Ken-Tool has been providing the tire industry and automotive aftermarket with quality products for more than 99 years.
  3. Prizes
    One grand prize winner will be selected based on specified judging criteria. The The Grand Prize winner will receive $1000 in Ken-Tool Products. The runner up will receive $500 in Ken-Tool Products. The second runner up will receive $250 in Ken-Tool products, and the third and fourth runners up will receive $100 in Ken-Tool products. The organizer reserves the right to change the specified prize if the circumstances necessitate the change.
  4. Registration and video submission
    By submitting a video to www.kentool.com/cares, the participant accepts all contest rules.
    Multiple video entries per person are permitted, however, each participant can only win one prize throughout the entire Ken-Tool Video Contest.
    Although there may be more than one person involved in the creation of a video and/or appearing in a video, only the person who registers with the Ken-Tool Video Contest is eligible to win. Failure to fully complete the video submission form will result in your video’s disqualification from the contest.
    To be considered as a finalist, all videos must be in English and free of profanity or otherwise offensive language.
    The following video formats will be accepted for submission:
    .mpeg, .mp4, .avi, .mov, or .wmv formats.
  5. Judging
    All submitted videos will be judged by a panel of Ken-Tool administrators. The organizer has the right to add or remove members from this panel at any time.
    Judging assessment criteria are as follows:

    • Proper use of Ken-Tool products
    • Use of Ken-Tool name
    • Originality
    • Entertainment value

    All videos are subject to the inspection and approval of the organizer prior to publication. Discriminating, violent, pornographic and other content deemed “offensive” by Ken-Tool administrators will be disqualified from the contest.
    The organizer has the right to disqualify participants who manipulate or attempt to manipulate the participation process and the competition, and/or breach these competition rules and/or otherwise attempt to unfairly influence the competition by way of threatening and/or harassing other competition participants or the organizer's employees.

  6. Notification of Winners
    All winners will be notified via e-mail. An e-mail will be sent to the address given at the time of registration. If the contest winner does not contact Ken-Tool within a six-week period —commencing at the time when notification of the win is provided— he or she shall lose his or her entitlement to the prize.
    Participants who are not announced as contest winners will not be notified.
  7. Prize Giving
    All prizes will be sent to the announced winners by mail.

III. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Rights
    By submitting a video, each participant accepts the contest Rules and Regulations and Terms of Condition. He or she bindingly and irrevocably declares that the uploaded video is his or her own work, and that he or she holds all copyrights, rights of use and enjoyment and other related rights, and that the video does not infringe on any third-party rights.
    The participant thus indemnifies the organizer from all third-party claims arising from the uploaded video, especially any infringement of third-party rights related to the video. If a video is created by more than one person, all copyright-reserving persons must be named and their consent verified. Participants are liable for the validity of the information that they provide.
    By submitting a video, the participant agrees that if he/she wins the contest, Ken-Tool obtains the exclusive rights to all known types of use (not limited with regard to time, territory and content) to the created video. This includes the right to duplicate, disseminate, exhibit or make the video available to the public, especially for promotional purposes.
    The organizer reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the video for objective and reasonable grounds. The organizer is also permitted to insert the Ken-Tool logo in any submitted video. The organizer receives the right of use with regard to the changed and/or combined winning video, as granted above. The participant waives his/her right that the video shall be provided with an author's designation.
  2. Premature Discontinuation of the Contest
    The organizer may discontinue the contest at any time without stating reasons. This applies, in particular, if the contest cannot run as scheduled for any reason. For example, in the case of computer viruses, software and/or hardware errors and/or other technical and/or legal reasons that affect the administration, security, integrity and/or regular and proper implementation of the contest.
  3. Liability
    The organizer shall not be liable for incorrect or incomplete records of participant and contest data, or the failure to record, store or process such data, for reasons over which the organizer has no control. If irregularities occur in the voting process —for example, as a result of server or software problems— the organizer shall make a final and absolute decision as regards to the winner at their own discretion and in accordance with the criteria specified above.
  4. Miscellaneous
    a. Participation in the contest and chances of winning are in no way influenced by purchasing the organizer's products.
    b. The judges' decision is final and binding on the participants. No appeal is possible.
    c. The contest is subject to U.S. law.
