Akron, Ohio – (October 25, 2012) – Dual steel wheels can rust and bond together over time, especially when a truck, bus or van sees duty in moist environments or on heavily salted roads. Getting the wheels apart has not been an easy task — generally involving a short length of 2×4, a three pound sledge hammer, and lots of banging around the edge of the wheel until the rust breaks up and the duals come apart.
The new Dual Wheel Separator from Ken-Tool makes removing stuck or frozen dual steel wheels quick and easy. Ideal for use on nearly any dual steel wheel truck, bus or van, the separator slips between the frozen wheels and uses the power of a screw-driven pusher to force them apart. Technicians can drive it easily with an impact wrench.
The innovative pusher is ball bearing-driven for near-zero turning resistance and its one-piece design insures that it won’t fall apart during use. Heat-treated for long-lasting strength and durability, the tool’s components have black oxide or bright nickel-plated finish for rust and corrosion resistance, and they are laser-etched for easy identification. The Forcing Screw, Pushers and Pullers have powerful 1-1/8” diameter x 11 threads for years of reliable service.
Proudly Made in USA, the Ken-Tool Dual Wheel Separator includes two pullers to cover large and small dual wheel applications and comes in a sturdy, compact, easy-to-store case.
